‘Black Adam’ releases new trailer featuring ‘Suicide Squad’ villa

A second official black adam the trailer rolled out of the gates on Thursday. Star Dwayne Johnson dropped the new footage on Twitter before coming out to Warner Bros.’ social.

This second trailer is definitely the best yet, giving DC’s antihero more of a true villainous bent. Doctor Fate, played by Pierce Brosnan, appears to lead a team of X-Men-like heroes – including Hawkman (Aldis Hodge), Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo) and Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell) – in taking down Black Adam. They are known as the Justice Society of America.

The trailer also features DC’s Nick Fury: Amanda Waller (Viola Davis). You can see it exactly 49 seconds.

Davis last appeared in DC Universe’s peacemakera spinoff series from 2021 Suicide Squad. The ruthless intelligence officer and head of Task Force X, known as the Suicide Squad, is more of an antagonist than Marvel’s Nick Fury, happy to execute anyone who defies her orders. Like Samuel L. Jackson’s character, the driving force behind the creation of The Avengers, Davis has appeared in many films.

Black Adam follows the antihero after he is released from a 5,000-year prison. The Justice Society of America comes together to stop his rampage, teaching him how to be more hero than villain, before teaming up to fight an even more powerful force.

Black Adam is scheduled to hit theaters on October 21.
